Status: Unread/Read ?

Recently you pulled one over Kissmanga by having them upload a fake Tomo-chan chapter. That fake chapter referred to a Kissmanga to Mangadex bookmark converter. I used it to import 153 bookmarks over to Mangadex. I thought I had finally moved on from Kissmanga, but it's not as simple as that it seems.

Riddle me this. Which titles I have unread chapters on Mangadex?

Answer: There is only one title I have marked all chapters read and it's the first title listed.

Pretty please, implement a button to mark individual or all chapters as read. It'd be hugely helpful coming from another site such as Kissmanga. And implement a unread/read status indicator on the https://mangadex.org/follows/manga/0 page we can use to sort titles by, so that we'd be able to see at a quick glance which titles we have unread chapters in.

While not as important as the two previous requests, there is a third thing I would like to request. Currently when I open https://mangadex.org/follows, it directs me to /chapters/0. I find that page noisy and useless for anything but RSS feed. But I am sure there are people who swear by it. As such I would like to have user profile setting where I could select between /chapters/0, /manga/0 and groups/. I have no use for the first and third, only the second.

Some better way of being able to mark "I have read this chapter" would be nice, because the current method of just clicking on the chapter itself and reading it doesn't always work.

A better implementation is if there's a way for mangadex to import kissmanga bookmarks that includes the chapters you have read, so when you see your mdlist it would mark chapters you've caught up to or already read

Would be nice, but probably impractical to implement.

The first hurdle to get through is KM's javascript check. Meaning whatever automation tool you write, it has to support javascript. I don't know any that does, unless you use Selenium. I did however find a python module to bypass the check somehow, but I didn't want to write tools in python. And because neither KM or MD actually has APIs that can be used for this purpose, you'd have to parse a ton of html programmatically.

As someone who is also coming from KissManga, I view this function as very important.
I used the read/unread feature to check if manga had new chapters to read, and having a means to easily check for new chapter uploads would be great.

That thread is specifically about receiving updates for series you have marked as "Completed", Mangadex already has those features for series you have marked "Reading". Any chapters you read will get an eye mark next to it and you can view new chapters of stuff you're reading on the follows tab of the main page or the follows page on the top bar.
