The girl went through and outgrew her chuuni phase in a matter of weeks. Good on her. Especially since it was brought on by depression.
Proud of her for being able to talk to him properly this time and let things go, even if it was still painful for her. But she was able to make amends with the MC and repair their friendship. Also proud of Emi for not falling into the same jealousy-induced misunderstanding as before. Recognizing that Yakumo needed to convey her feelings to put them to bed and the importancy of their privacy for that is incredibly mature, and brave.
As for the assistant thing, I'm pretty sure the "graduate high school" bit from his parents remains a sticking point whether Kanou accepts the job offer or not. It's just a matter of whether or not he wqnts to commit to that future.
Also, calling it now. The thought that Kanou was killed in the natural disaster is a fakeout and at least part of Emi's goal for the reconstruction is the knowledge/belief that Kanou will be there. I'll even go so far as to say that something happens to separate/break them up, only for them to meet and get back together in the "present day" and that's how the series ends.
