Here's a bit of a niche recommendation request...
Yuri stories tend to start out as yuri stories with the female protagonist pursuing a female love interest from the start.
How about a yuri story or yuri subplot that didn't start out that way...
What if a one of those generic reverse harem ends with the female protagonist or female lead cock-blocking all the male leads and capturing the other girl...
That would certainly be more entertaining.
TL;DR: You can skip this part if you're too lazy to read it.
It would be nice to read one of these stories where - when the female protagonist has prospects of both sexes - it gets successfully derailed it into the yuri ending instead of following the predictable (boring, generic) outcome.
If anything like that exists, please share it here. If it doesn't exist, someone needs to make it - there's a gap in the market that needs to be filled.

My rant in the middle of the post may get a bit specific. I'm just pointing out how isekai harems seem popular right now and they often throw out some yuri bait but never follow through. It gets boring when every harem ends in the predictable way.
I'll broaden the scope to any story with a plot twist into a yuri ending that wasn't originally on the menu.

That last point is the problem! Background:
I read manga/manhwa from all genres, for all demographics. I have noticed some trends:
- Some female protagonist stories have no romance.
- Some female protagonist stories are yuri.
- The "shoujo-ai" variant tends to go nowhere, beat around the bush, and end inconclusively.
- The "yuri" variant tends to be pretty blatantly focused on that aspect from start to end.
- Female protagonist stories covering multiple genres and including any romance tend to have a male lead.
- Many of these will invoke a reverse harem to some degree.
- That harem may even sometimes include female love interest(s).
- But the girl(s) and other guys are just there for meaningless drama because the protagonist will always go for that one guy who simps the hardest.
- Which is boring because it's so predictable.

It would be much more interesting if there were a story like this where the guys pursue the female protagonist, but the girl snatches her away in the end.As an example of a failure:
- When I read Beware the Villainess! I was a bit disappointed at the wasted opportunity. She set out to sabotage all the trashy MLs to save the innocent FL from them. Despite clearly winning over the FL as well, she ended up with a new ML clinging to her from quite early in the story. This was the perfect set-up for unexpected yuri, and they threw it all away!
- There was another story that got a bit closer - I forgot the name - where it concluded with the 2 girls marrying the same guy to facilitate their love triangle. Basically yuri with extra steps - where the third wheel got included.
If anything like that exists, please share it here. If it doesn't exist, someone needs to make it - there's a gap in the market that needs to be filled.
