The police are likely investigating the abuse videos in connection with assault charges and whatever other crimes would be attached to that. So I think Marie has some time before they work out that the manager is dead, but she needs to get out soon, Aki will be the first person that they want to question.
It wouldn't surprise me if Marie takes the fall to Aki free actually.
