Suggestion for image hosting?

Hi all, since you have to post URLs for images in your post, what services do you good people use to host images?

There's ImgBB, but sometimes the direct link is broken. Catbox is the most reliable out there and the images can last forever, pretty much.

Doesn't MangaDex have its own image hosting now? Just download the image locally and use the "Drop/Click Here" option to upload it to the forum.

Gotta be careful with Imgur these days. Due to Medialab.AI buying them out a few years ago images that are not "Advertiser Friendly" can be deleted on a whim, leaving broken links wherever you post it.

Also make sure to not use Discord for image sharing, I still see people try to use it as a fix for posting images fast but they don't understand that Discord images break after a few weeks.

Gotta be careful with Imgur these days.

I kinda have another warning for imgur these days.

I always use imgur, but my way to get to the site is usually just by typing "imgur" in the address bar and then letting google provide a link from the search results, then I click on it.
(a habit that starts from forgetting to press control)
But since a few weeks ago, the top search results from google are fake imgur sites, not the real imgur site (scam? phishing?).

Probably work of some state actor that's powerful enough to suppress online discussions. Especially on very public places on reddit. The whole thing is very shady.

Since this thread got bumped, I want to add two more hosting sites to the list.

First is https://s3nd.pics which was created by Imgur users that were tired of MediaLab's bullshit.

Second is https://postimg.cc/ which is a quick upload and URL grab site, no need to make an account if you don't plan on keeping an image collection.

I have had good experiences with Flickr. It's one of those that have been around for ages without making waves.

The new UI is garbage. They've tried to turn it into a doom scrolling platform and hidden away the tools you need for embedding images on forums. You have to fish out the legacy parts of the site in obscure places to make it a usable image hosting platform. Also, the part of the site that is actually useful frequently throws the error "Imgur is temporarily over capacity. Please try again later." - especially if you're using a VPN.

I started using it before it was shit and I really hate what it has become.

They have just outright lost some benign and completely SFW images that I hosted for this forum and never publicly shared on their site - which has broken some of my posts here after the edit window has closed. Some questionable images I uploaded are still up.
