It seems most people liked this, but I honestly didn't enjoy it.
This manga is to Solo Leveling what Hero Academia is to superhero manga... a "civil servant" perspective on a genre, probably born from typical Japanese "wa" mentality that values being absurdly humble over Rule Of Cool.
The fundamental appeal of something like Solo Leveling is the way the protagonist acts. Completely ditching that for this manga, only keeping the setting which is ostensibly merely a vehicle for the protagonist to act a certain way, screws it over.
