Idea of magical girls who transform by reenacting their own suicide attempts is incredible and oddly moving. This just keeps getting better and better.

Some folks complained that chapter 1 was distasteful, but I strongly disagree. As a survivor, I get the sense that the author understands depression and suicidal ideation, that they're speaking to me from a real place. It's largely because they're not saying the right things and being terribly respectful. Instead they play with the unspeakable like it's their territory, an old friend. It makes me feel at home here.

They've been making manga about suicide since at least 2010, and I can tell from reading this one that they truly understand it.
