See you tomorrow
Damn I didn't notice that it was marked as girl's love. It's like calling an action movie a romance movie because two of the characters happen to be married.I don't get it, if soru's suicide curse was broken at the beginning of time why would he be there in modern time? He's either be thousands of years old hanging out with children (not uncommon in anime but it makes their relationship weird since he's no longer the same age via reincarnation) or what's the alternative? I'm also obviously upset we didn't get like, any wlw couples at all at the end of a series marked GL. Like yeah these bitches are gay but why do they have to be gay and single?
I'm just venting, whatever. It wasn't a terrible ending, part 2 is coming, I guess I'm still on board. Soru shouldn't be in this though
Chiming in here a year later, but something I've picked up from going in and out of therapy is that it's good to externalize depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, etc. as things that "aren't a part of you." It's not that you want to die but rather something outside of yourself is making you think that it's the only option.pretty eh. I just find it kinda questionable that it says all suicides are the result of evil entities instead of poor mental health. could have made it so phobias are produced by people in a poor mental state instead of them just existing, defeating them just alleviates that. could have also tied that into copycat suicide thing mentioned multiple times into the plot as a single phobia "spreading" but even so that doesn't make megaphobias make sense.
Eithne being retconned into an angel instead of the first suicide girl was odd, something definitely happened behind the scenes there. considering how significant that is I'm assuming the entire ending was rewritten at some point. on another note, Ixtab, the indigenous Maya god of suicide by hanging. she's mentioned by Eithne in the church in chapter 37 and then seen in chapter 39 physically behind Eithne and Soru. she's presumably going to be a big part of part 2 I'm guessing?
In the “nobody dies” timeline, Luna would be around 60 years old by now (remember, she was alive and in highschool over 43 years ago). she’s not shown because she’s not part of the “present day” setting any more than the suicide girls who were corrupted are. It’d be nice to see happy endings for all of them, but authors DO have limited pages to work with.So Gun girl was just kind of irrelevant? Everybody else comes back and is happy but she is just too inconvenient to keep around?
