If they're trying to make me like the water god and ship them with asahi, they're failing.. Like Asahi said, the water god is very detestable and so unlikeable.. = = If he ever ends up with Asahi, I will definitely throw a tantrum since Subaru actually cares for her than a stupid damn water god... Don't force the wife thing on me.. that's the stupidest bullshit I can ever hear! She's only a sacrifice so don't just try forcing the pairing when it's just so damn wrong in so many ways!

@lexy yeah I can pretty much see the route their going and it's like a typical shoujo manga.. where the girl falls in love with the delinquent bad boy and not the nice one.. but this one is in a much worse scale... = =lll

Glad to see others are also angry at the water god. I had to take a break at some point because I was so frustrated in how they attempt to incite sympathy towards the him. I mean, no thank you, that guy can eat shit, Subaru is a lot younger yet he's smarter than the stupid water ass.

Regarding all the hate towards the Water God, I think the point the story is trying to make is that he is incapable of understanding humans. He starts out unredeemable, but this story is as much about Asahi surviving in this new world as it is the Water God learning to empathize with humans and thus become a better "person," at least better within our realm of understanding. Yet that's the thing about this kind of situation. He's a god. His realm of understanding is beyond ours and that's the crux of this entire mess.

Wtf bruhhh, I didn't expect this manga to be so traumatic for the characters. I also just looked at the cover art and they've grown up like damn, looks like she ain't going home. The cover for 10 also made me a lil mad, Water God has to go through a hell of a redemption for that to happen. I think everyone here still prefers the Asahi x Subaru, but god since this is a Shoujo manga it's gonna push the Water God angle because this shit loves the creepy mysterious older guy pairing like why.

Why make Subaru a love rival when the 'winner' is obvious?
I'm perfectly okay with him being an asshole, he's clueless about the human world and is learning by observing the femMC, but having her meet Subaru first (and he's such a good boy even without the contrast to that douche) makes reading this very frustrating.

I stopped reading this two - three years ago because of the commentary on religion I think. I probably read it in good faith that the author would make the Water God a viable love interest. As this goes deeper in, I'm wondering if the author actually did that by the end of it. I at least want to find that out. I'm not gonna drop this until that question is resolved.

this is written by a woman, so obviously she's going to end up with the violent demon who abducted her, that's the kind of shit they fantasize about. subaru would have to become kratos from god of war if he wanted any chance of winning
