Even though Shinpei mentioned it before, I only just noticed that his eyes are definitely different colors now. Spoiler just in case this is important and I'm right:
Does it have something to do with the "gift" that Ushio gave Shinpei at the start? I was confused about that, and whether it was a dream. Now, I'm not so sure it was.
