Yeah, she didn't learn jack shit from the experience: instead of listening to the professional that has always helped her, she dived into a repair she hasn't the knowledge, the tools or even the proper lighting for. That was exactly what landed her in her current trouble: she tried to "fix" a small problem, until it become a big problem.
Same for the housing: she didn't even bother to ask the management for clarification or for an exception, despite her teacher telling her they were willing to help, in light of her peculiar situation. She saw a sign saying "no motorcycles allowed" and that was it: if they are racist against the supercub, obviously they can't be decent human beings. Maybe it just meant she couldn't DRIVE a motorcycle inside the premise, you know, for the noise; we will never know...

I see that and I agree, yet I have the deepest respect for this character as far as the cub repair situation went. She's a tad too impulsive but she's got her heart in the right place.

I made sure I got a solid job (kinda a trade) before I moved out to focus on my hobbies and I highly recommend others on this wavelength (that can do so) as well. It's way easier and more fun to work on your dreams without having to worry too much about money.

There's been rough times, especially when I was laid off, but I wouldn't trade the experience for the world.

The other perspective is that she started from nothing, but she's learning to be independent. It makes sense for her to want to figure it out herself. There's no life where you don't have to learn from your mistakes. Rarely do you know if your decisions are good until you've made them. The engine repair went just fine, with a bit of help from Reiko. Maybe she'll find a live-in apprentice job in a motorcycle shop.

Oh, this smell the manga ending. I enjoyed this. Everyone said that this manga is just a big advert for Honda, but the Cub really is one of the backbone of Japan (and other Asian countries) economy and livelihood. It moves people and goods, and precursor to many modern scooter/motorbike.
