Always the privileged elders complaining about the usefulness of the younger generations...

This is why we can't have nice things.

This dude complaining about Satorou is probably going to mess up and die soon.

reckon reckon reckon reckon. i reckon. you reckon. we reckon. coming in like a wreckin ball.

I don't think train tunnels would be as steep as described, unless it had a pulley system to pull up the train, because it's inefficient for trains to move up steep slopes on their own power. I don't see a pulley system drawn in the panel though.

How nice, giving the people who drowned a water bottle as an offering.

"How did you make it on an island?" AN island especially a mountain island doesn't have the same difficulties and dangers as a abandoned city. The city has greater rewards but also higher risk of being murdered. More food readily available, but also more people.
The Mountain Island has no such convenient sources of food and shelter. Not even other people to rely on or use. It all depends on what you can kill and/or harvest for yourself, and making sure nothing else kills you first.
Bet that guy wouldn't be talking like that if he was on MC's home turf, then he'd be the one getting in the way and being sloppy.

For those wondering why they left a bottle of water for the victims of disaster, it's part of a Japanese ritual for the dead. It's called 末期の水 or last moment's water. This is where water is offered to the dying person moments before, or immediately after passing - by moistening the lips of the soon-to-be-deceased. In some cases, people also leave a cup or bowl of water on the grave. The idea is to wish or provide the dead a comfortable travel to the afterlife. In legends, they say that in the Buddha's dying moment he complained that he was thirsty, and a follower gave him water, which made the Buddha be relaxed and be sent off in peace.
