While I agree, I think it is better that way because he wants to die faster (die anyway), and this way ensure she cannot dodge, just hold her right there. He was about to die so he was a lot slower than normal.

Man I want to like this because of the premise and the art, but it's basically just despair-porn. Why do 90% of all people they meet have to be absolutely horrible people who will exploit and betray them any way they can? That's no way for a society/mankind in general to thrive in a world with so many hostile monsters. It makes no sense. Where are the normal people (Disregarding Garen and his crew)?

I think I agree, there'd have to be something artificial in how absurd the world is. I mean other than it being a completely artificial world made for our entertainment. We are only 17 chapters in and given the title of the series it's about within expectations.

I think with a bit more time then we can see what it's like in the longer term.
