I hope Toraiwa gets fired or gets btfo'd by Sakurako somehow. The real sad thing about this chapter is people witnessed the delinquents dragging Tadokoro in thr alley, but did NOTHING about it.

I'd call everyone here a cardboard cutout, but that would be an insult to cardboard cutouts.

Eh, I don't really get all the complaints. This whole section was just so that Nikaido got to be the badass hero, I think that if you're talking about realism or attempted rape you might be looking at it a bit too deep

They tried to rape a girl, and then you're like "I'll call your parents" lol

That's jail worthy just saying

@furopoi As many times as we see stories related to having bad experiences with a particular entertainment industry like this, there's probably the same amount of people who had wonderful experiences. There's decent and terrible people clumped together anywhere you go, so the specific connections someone makes in their particular field of choice are kind of luck of the draw unfortunately.

@Glomoro i personally think it would be more conservative to state that we simply can't assume whether the industry is better or worse on average from such a small sample. to say there's good and bad people everywhere is sensible, but to claim that they probably come in the same quantities would need more evidence

@furopoi I think you took the wrong meaning from what I said. But I could probably have been clearer as well. I wasn't saying there's a fifty fifty split when all is said and done and every person has been accounted for. Let's say the negative stories we're familiar with accounted for something like 10% of the total experiences in the situations we're talking about here. Even that 10% is probably more like an "at most" estimation, but if we run with that number what I meant was that there's probably another 10% or so of the total people in the industries in question that have told positive stories.

One thing I'd like to add on in hindsight here is that the negative stories would stand out like a sore thumb even with the numbers being equal, while the positive ones are easier to set aside. People are bound to focus on the negative ones even if there's actually more stories about positive experiences floating around. I think this was a point I was probably going to bring up to begin with with the other thing as the basis, but whenever I try not ramble on way too much about something I end up cutting off too much instead. Not really a great habit either way around, I either say too little and get misunderstood or say way too much and the other party gets hit with something that needs a decent TL;DR.

@Glomoro i think i see what you're getting at, though i still think that would be difficult to actually measure. adding to your point though, although the number of good or bad experiences may not be equal, the people who have had negative experiences can also be people who have had positive experiences, which would leave the difference down to the number of people who have had only negative or only positive experiences, which should be smaller.

also, i personally don't think there's a goldilocks zone of too little/too much information that can fully prevent misunderstandings. in that respect, i think having the ability to peacefully clear up misunderstandings is praiseworthy, especially on the internet where they come so easily and so often break out into arguments.

@-Aincrad- It's clear they were trying to assault her, but getting a rape charge would require more evidence. They never got a chance to strip her, so their fingerprints wouldn't be on her clothes and her clothes weren't crumpled or damaged. Kinda wish they at least got some broken bones though.

Not only this rape wannabe cliche shit was annoying , a lot of people could have done something , including rich lady that DOES NOT EVEN HAVE A BODYGUARD , and the emo does not even know a simple self defense technique/has peper spray/SOMETHING as always on these mangas written by a virgin for virgins because those scenes are very common on shitty shounens/etc.
I have been reading Chinese mangas lately and at least these rapey bitches get fucking killed , even tortured sometimes.

@Podi125 she got dragged from the middle of the street midday , im sure fuck ton of people saw it , BUT as always on these trash written mangas noone saw it.

@Poptop Yeah but as I said, getting dragged in the street is an assault charge, not a rape charge. I get that they just wanted her to look cool, but the rapey bit was way too far for there to be no consequences. Never said I really liked that they got off on a rape charge, I just explained why this happened. I will say though, not everyone carries pepper spray or simple self defense. She wasn't born in the fucking hood my dude. Most people don't carry pepper spray and shit unless they live in a bad area. That's just a fact.

Ah, the benefit of being a minor... Attempted rape ? Slap on the wrist and we call your parents !

Well in the Asian cultures parents are way more savege, it's not Juvie but they'll definitely suffer a lot

I prefer an author writing about attempted rape rather than ignoring the topic completely.
Also, what that police offcicer did is absolutely what he should have done. He had an eye witness report of a girl getting dragged into an alley way and as the culprits were minors he rightfully called their parents first, because it's not like he can prosecute them right away. We don't get to see what he does with them and their parents afterwards.
