Honestly, a better romance story then a majority of the current rom-com series that drag on a hundred chapters before we even see a relationship or if at all.

@animepig Well in my perspective that's because this is "romance", not "rom-com". Romance series I think mainly focus on the romance, and comedy can be involved but it's not the focus. Where as I think rom-com often primarily focus on the comedy aspect and less the romance. So with rom-com series it's in my experience common to have a hundred or more chapters where the romance doesn't develop in any way, simply because as I said it's not the primary focus. People might disagree with me here, but this is just how I view it. I personally prefer series like this, where the progression of the romance is a primary focus.

@hauntedpizza yeah but some rom-coms focus on the romance but throw a heck of a lot of comedy in them making a funny fluffy wholesome story (the three best things in the world) and those story’s in my opinion are the best. (Although romances are nice)

@HauntedPizza Even with romances that aren't comedy, there's a big range between the ones that basically focus on conflict, plot and angst, with things like triangles, past traumas making people reluctant to try romance again, fears and feelings of unworthiness and misunderstandings--and the ones that focus more on the positive fluffy moments of happiness with a lot less plot, conflict and drama. Traditionally it's believed that to make a good story you need conflict, but it turns out a lot of people (myself included) are fine reading romances with very little traditional conflict-driven plot, just to see cute romantic moments that warm the heart.
And of course if everyone involved in those moments is a cute girl, that's an extra bonus.

@SparkShadow That's fair. Plus it ultimately depends on what each person defines exactly as a "rom-com" and a "romance".

@Purplelibraryguy Yeah I like cute romances. I also think that romances with conflict driven plots can also work well, depending ultimately on how they're written. Past traumas can make for interesting character writing and can also factor into progressing the romance. A love triangle can work well in progressing characters and their relationships, other times it can be used to drag out the plot. I think it all boils down to a case by case basis and how each author handles everything. Plus factor in people's personal preferences as well. Mainly though I was saying how a lot of "rom-com" series I've read just don't focus on anything other than making gags, usually at the expense of the audience. A great example of this is when you use "characters about to kiss but get interrupted" like 3 or more times within say 20 chapters. Sometimes it gets to that point where they'll never kiss and that's just "the joke". (Which I don't find funny or even slightly amusing.)
