He really is a wretched piece of shit, but he's the edgy protagonist so a certain readership will bend over backwards to defend him.

This is clearly not for me. I don't really understand why it would appeal to anyone, but oh well. Have fun with it, I guess.
Must agree with you pal, a good chunk of mangas is getting pretty stale as i'm getting older, people almost crucified me one time because i said that the Hero (not the mc) in 'Akuyaku Kizoku to shite Hitsuyou na Sore' wasn't as bad as the manga was trying to portray so far and that in some particular scene, the heroines overreacted way too much to what he did and that most of times it's a cheap way of the author to make people create enmity with the character but was simply poorly made.

This one was getting pretty dull with the whole protagonist actions, kinda dropped it in chapter 13, opened this chapter because the 178 comments intrigued me, and what i get, people don't seeing how the whole mc personality is flawed, not saying that a story couldn't have this as a plot point, i love unconventional pretest, but it's has been done in a pretty juvenile way so far.

If anyone want some fresh air i recommend this one it's pretty cool, a bit over in some moments but pretty enjoyable so far. peace!

I'll never understand Japanese authors infatuation with slavery. It ruins so many good stories. Like, what was the purpose of this scene at all? It could have been about literally anything and he chose to make the MC pro-slavery because it would be "hard" to abolish or some stupid shit. "Necessary evil" my ass man, fuck this guy. This shit was already getting boring with the super repetitive constant fighting.

A. easy plot device to get a faithful companion when the world is against the main character
B. Medieval/early modern setting and what was the most common thing everywhere in the world around such periods? slavery... remember slavery were only viewed as bad/abolished in most parts of the world late 1800s so it's more believable to have slavery in such settings than removing it

What part of "isn't necessarily evil" went over your head? He's pointing out essentially the only pro, being that children aren't dying from starvation
ppl denying this dont understand the how removing a system can equaly fuck up the ppl ur freeing from said system
they have no possessions, will still be discriminated against for being poor or ex-slave
not to mention the young slaves what they gonna do? get a job they cant they are kids they dotn know how money works or how to even get jobs and will prob just end up being exploited again

I don't like slavery just like the next guy.

Heck! My country has been colonized for 3 century a long time ago and the first thing they did after getting their freedom is to imitate the one who colonized them and tear each other down.

So, yeah. I don't support slavery. But what could Weiss do? The teacher in class asked his opinion about slavery and he gave the most safest answer that wouldn't put a mark on his back. And when Allen confronted Weiss he didn't have a long term solution for slavery he just simply said slavery is bad. And that's it.

But I believe Weiss simply become argumentative because it's Allen. If it's Allen CF he might let her bent her frustration and left it as is.

But let's be honest here, their arguments about slavery wouldn't lead to something. And besides, even if Weiss wanted to abolished slavery he would need allies who are equal to him and share the same belief as him and with how much he focus on the plot and not to mention how infamous he is, I doubt he could do it.
