Too bad posts can't be pinned to the top in forum threads.

Since people apparently don't read previous comments, and the confusion has already been answered by multiple people.... @ everybody still confused or just too lazy to click "Read older comments" at the bottom of the page:

@Schlaefer
Even the MC speculated about Zirconia being the 2nd wife because the numbers don't add up:
https://mangadex.org/chapter/446690/13 and following page

^So to sum up/recap: Kazura is (25).
Zirconia (26) married Nelson at 16-17 after she joined the army, when Nelson saw her military prowess.
She's the 2nd wife, not the first (who is dead, presumably).
Thus, she is Lieze's (14-15) step-mother. Not her biological mother.
Lieze was already 11 or so years old when her father remarried.

Zirconia and Nelson married out of convenience. She still has trauma given her past of witnessing her entire village/parents/sister get murdered and raped, where she was the only survivor. So it is not unusual to see her react this way at the start of the chapter thinking she was going to be doing it, and therefore also not unusual to assume that both Zirconia and Nelson are abstaining from sex from the start, otherwise her PTSD will get triggered again.

No. Plenty of women died during/after childbirth (some say as many as over 1 in 3 deaths) in the ancient and medieval world far more than they do nowadays (thanks, modern medicine) and those odds only go up the younger they are if they're not yet fully developed, especially given their lack of understanding of modern sanitation. Of course, they also did not have C-section either without outright expecting a mother to die in the process. Exceptions are not the norm.

? They do explain it though. Quite clearly, IMO. And it's not a fan theory...just conclusions that were derived from the story-logic. You may have simply forgotten about it or glossed over it.
Vol 4, ch 16, page 13-14....they clearly stated it was "nigh impossible" (emphasis on nigh) for her to have given birth at such a young age and therefore conclude she's not Lieze's biological mother given reasonable doubt. Did you really want the author to outline every little thing such as using bullet points as XYZ like a teacher asking for how you solved a math problem by "showing your work" or a video game strategy guide book/walkthrough to hold your hand while you play the game?
Also, Vol 4, Ch. 17, Page 30 to get Lieze's and Eira's age compared to Kazura's age.

If you ask me, a story is only as good as one that makes you think, and come to your own conclusions from basic line of logic. I'd honestly feel insulted if stories had to explain every little thing to me, ultimately becoming so verbose, because that's like the author is assuming the readers are idiots who can't work out simple arithmetic or plot details for themselves. Quite patronizing in that regard.

Agree to disagree if you wish.

You're confusing what I meant when I said "explain". Here I'm saying explain why she appears to have never had sex. Explain why it appears she has never consummated her marriage with Nelson. Explain those issues.

Fair. That's yet to be fully fleshed out, which they may or may not get to, who knows. However, I don't think we're on the same page, because my comment to you

...was in reply to this:
Eleven is not too young to have a child. That is a fact proven by our world. I would not be surprised if that were a fact in their world as well. You can look up the sad stories of very young parents, but eleven is not physically too young. That's not even mentioning anything with their physiology being different etc.

Of which I (and I'm sure the FBI and Chris Hansen too) would have to 100% disagree with you where you say
...Eleven is not too young to have a child...

No one is talking about how MC didn't really explain the Pendant was from Valetta to Lieze even though he seems to care for her (Valetta) deeply. I makes me upset to see characters who are overwhelmed at the slightest touch of any woman they end up hurting their main

@givemersspls In extremely sad stories perhaps, but given how comfortable their relationship looks, I doubt that's the case here. Even in the middle ages people don't really get pregnant that early. Most commoners get married and give birth when they're older, around 20+. Even though nobles got married earlier, in their teens, they usually still only gave birth when they're around 16 or so, and really young teens giving birth would be the exception, not the norm.

The timelines don't really match either. Eira mentioned that Zirconia was a survivor of a village attack and she wasn't portrayed as a young child. Zirconia and Nelson also met and got married shortly before the war. That means at the oldest, Zirconia would have had to fight in the war as a 10 year old girl and get pregnant with Lieze during that same time (it would also mean Nelson is a pedophile who fell in love with a peasant 10 year old girl). It's so unlikely that you might as well just say it's impossible.

Storytelling-wise, there's also no need for the author to have the MC suspect anything if it's not going to be relevant later. MC thinks she's too young to have had Lieze + Zirconia herself saying she's a virgin = She's not Lieze's biological mother. As for why they haven't consummated the marriage, I've already mentioned my theory based on her obvious trauma but I'm sure the author will explain it more clearly sooner or later. Regardless, I'm quite satisfied with how the author is giving these more subtle 'show, don't tell' kind of details.

Lieze needs to calm her thirst. God damn, woman.
It's also more disturbing because, although she seems to like Kazura, she's seemingly more interested in whoring herself out to him just to keep him around. Which, I suppose, in a way is admirable of a future leader to sacrifice of themselves for the good of their people, but... it's unnecessary and ironically even harmful because Kazura's support was never given on that premise. People playing bullshit political games with him like he's in Game of Thrones will be more likely to cause issues than to just keep the status quo.

I just hope the author doesn't do something drastic and channels his inner GRRM and do something like kill off Valetta or something to spark off drama.

Lemme tell you why that's a good thing.
Kazura: "Oh, yes, this is a pedant from the woman in the village, Valetta."
Lieze: [smiles]
[timeskip]
Lieze: "Oh no! Kazura-sama, I've received terrible news! It appears Valetta was in the mountains looking for 'eye run ore' and slipped and fell and tragically died. I know this news is hard to hear... but I'll be here with you to help you get through this."

Don't give out information you don't have to give out.

Don't tell me that's how it plays out next...
I have no idea, since I can't into moonrunes and the manga is almost caught up to the English translations of the WN now (which hasn't been updated in almost a year).
I don't think that the author will do that, simply because, quite frankly, I don't think they're smart enough to think of it and pull it off.

Thank god. I kept seeing people hinting about drama in Nelson's mansion and some huge hornet's nest being kicked there which made me wonder if someone got GRRM'd.

AGH! It angers me that people are trying to take advantage of MCs naivety of their world! But also, who WOULDN'T in their situation? A "God" has descended upon them, why wouldn't they want to ask for as much as they can get? Especially since our MC is very considerate.

SO

This guy is a God

The story about that God says "Don't take advantage of him"

What does every dipshit then suddenly want to do?

Unfortunately I think this was written extremely realistically so I'm not complaining but fuck off dude God isn't here to solve your family problems
