I think it's because I didn't grow up in commute-centric area, but to me his plan to ride the train back with her has a time flaw in it. His school is further down the line, so if he gets out "around" 4:30, then it feels like he's already missed the train that she'd be taking.

the review for the WN are pretty awful when it reach certain chapter and i saw what makes them mad, though, this manga is based on the LN ver., so not sure if it's still the same or not since LN usually are checked by editor and there have been a lot of cases where LN ver. are completely different than WN ver. except the baseline, so yeah
