I think its hinting at the future
"Live your life without regret" could be interpret as telling her to enjoy the little frredom she have now as a teenager. For when she finished school, she will be expected to drop them all and fulfill her duties to the family legacy.

These type of stories tends to depict the perfect child from powerful families having invisible expectations placed upon them regardless of their wishes.
