At least that puts in more points in favor of my initial idea about blondie -- she is not even necessarily a lesbian, but someone who craves attention and love so much, that she happily took up the tomboy's courting. It does make less sense, though, when one considers that she's not behaving like a Histrionic (attention whore) at all.
