Tap to scroll one browser page

I use a touch screen tablet with "fit to width" on, and some manga have incredibly long pages (E.g. 720 x 6000px). When I tap the screen, it advances an entire manga page, skipping a huge amount forwards.
Could I get an option for tap to instead do the same as the page down key on the keyboard? I don't want to skip 6000 pixels to the next manga page, I just want to advance one screen so I can read the whole thing.

Changing all previous/next page actions in long strip mode to be more or less equivalent to pressing the page up/down key has been suggested, and a developer responded with "Hmmm.". That sounded positive-ish but I don't know if that's fallen off the radar or not, though.
