Seems very promising so far. Lacks the self-assured confidence of a masterwork, but still far more ambitious than the usual slop.

More or less. I would agree it's not at world-class level or anything - his art can be a little bit too scratchy and half-done at times (poorly-judged angles, missing details, that sort of thing). But there's still something about it that really caught my attention inside a few pages of Chapter 1 - I feel like there's nothing quite like it in most of the shonen/seinen series running at the moment. And it improves, too - there's some fantastic visuals in the next couple of chapters, IMO, to the point you can read a lot from the poses alone, and a really great reveal (for want of a better word) after that.
