@Kingdo Indeed. Some say that men who can cook is more has a better chance at getting a girl. But that also depends on how skilled that person is in cooking and the preference of the girl as well.
Hollandaise was supposed to have butter. (That's the tricky part of the sauce, you need the butter hot enough so it's liquid, but not so hot it cooks the yolk.) Also Myne being bitchy as usual, but you can sub the bacon for finer ingredients, and even add caviar over the hollandaise.
@nomadicengi I can confirm that, but even knowing how to cook for yourself is seen as a plus - independence.
@Yell
Keeping the spoilers as vague as possible because there is a lot more to this
Motoyasu calls Naofumi his father in law / otou-san in the novels because Naofumi is Filo's dad. You should check out the Yari no Yuusha no Yarinaoshi manga, it's a spin off focused on Motoyasu
Spoilers for the otou-sa- at the end if you don't read the WN, LN, or the Spear Hero's manga Yari no Yuusha no Yarinaoshi.
After the Spear Hero get betrayed... by you know who, and receiving the side effects of his own curse series.
He can only see women as pigs (literally, their faces become pigs and he can only hear oinks).
Filo is the only one who he can see as a girl because she is still kind to him.
Because of that he regains his love of Filo and the filorials.
Since Naofumi is Filo's father, the Spear Hero calls him his father(-in-law).
That is the reason why he later loves Naofumi and calls him Otou-sama which means father
And approves of Naofumi's actions whether it is cooking, or mugging the bandits, or admiring Naofumi's sadistic actions.
@HDMI1 Naofumi used water close to seawater to match the fish, since the fish in this chapter is sea water one. "Sakana(fish) ni(to) awasete(match) kaisui(seawater) ni(to) chikai(close) ensui(saltwater) wo tsukuri(make)". Yeah, forgot the "salt" but everybody know that "seawater" had salt in it.
@lvxferre Well, that depends on what culture you are. In the Philippine culture, it's pretty rare for somebody to go independent and being able to cook is not seen being independent here but more of you having more power on what you want to eat in parties and gatherings. Especially in family gatherings at Christmas and in the new years eve. It is a plus here for relationship but it's a massive plus for parties and gatherings.
