This kitty cat interference is d*mb.
In chapter 12.1 they obtained the title "Captain" for defeating the extra boss.
The effects of that title are HP +200, MP+200, ATK+200, DEF+200.
So I am pretty sure that with a defense of over 200 a normal cat could not even harm him at all.
Furthermore with those 200 extra HP any damage he would receive from that cat would be neglectable even if his original HP would be just 1 at level 1.
