i wonder how many isekai readers actually read the BL ones, there are a small handful of them but they're very much in the minority compared to even the yuri ones

depends if you seek it out, I've rarely come across isekai GL even though I look consume a lot of isekai. then again going back on my reading list, I think I don't even register them as GL based on their artstyle or remotely remember them due to lackluster development.
more of a problem with isekai than it is about the romance though

the story is just that. BL... some BL work is not like that.

probably is the case. I will admit that BL art style is distinct, there's also just a heavy saturation of them.
one of my favorites that isn't BL but definitely has tension like what everyone is alarm about in this comment section, would have to be Trash of the Count's Family (novel)

Well, other than knowing that Wizard lost his leg, i don't think we'd get much of a 'tragic flashback' even if it's painted as 'him helping his friend makes ends meet' as a sympathetic backstory as opposed to just becoming a bandit b/c they're blinded by greed

i guess it might be a combo but there's a bit more 'reincarnation/villainess' ones where it's yuri that's tech an isekai tho not all the korean manhua get labeled as isekai since sometimes it's like games or novels or so

He had to have the prophetic dream to show him what to do but he probably just thought it was a 'normal' game and that the trade option was 'useless' b/c there wouldn't be any other gamers/online stuff as opposed to in game currency for saving up to buy armor or so

Ah! In that case I've read plenty, it's been so long that I find the two very different at this point. MD even has a tag to distinguish the two. I feel like the transmigrated premise really takes out adventure in isekais

maybe the kinda games he played on earth didn't have that much focus on that but yeah, i guess he might not have bothered too much just trying to live/survive since instead of fully teleporting he does have 'memories' of his 'childhood' and og adventurer group but i think his 'main consciousness' didn't take over til the story required it versus him having memories as a baby (tho i guess even being fully aware without other cheats wouldn't have helped him not getting thrown away by his parents)

But like a couple other ppl say, the story ends up going down hill/into some cliche stuff with a 'harem' even if he doesn't buy slaves or so lol

-every female fawning over him.

-introduced basic item or/and food that revolutionized the world.
-story quality goes down because almost everything is more bump on the road for MC.

Yeah and the pacing is slow, but it's a shame , not that it necessarily would've made it better, if they had showed 'fanservice' at the start so ppl won't read like 30 chapters and then suddenly "cute girl throws themselves at him"

Unless the point of the story is "MC gets OP and starts getting greedy as a murderhobo/develops some kinda complex" as a corruption arc versus some kinda redemption arc/growth but i would've preferred it being the 'slow life' kind where he focuses on farming/making ingredients as a 'support' one , i do like Solo Farming and Hunter World's Gardener (korean webtoons) which are more of a 'support' type abilities although there ends up being action in that too and them basically getting support from a 'deity' as well but at least we get a good chunk of full color/length strips

he was just an unlucky normal dude who somehow become strong but keep getting into troubles. He wants to lay low, he wants peace but troubles keep coming at him and he is strong enough to deal with the troubles but not smart enough to deal with the aftermath
