Taking a single, canonically "low self-esteem" fictional character's specific POV in a gooner comic and applying it to an entire nation of real people is incredibly reductive and indicative of a lack of perspective on your part.

Maybe read less manga and talk to real people more.

Let's run a thought experiment. Say Koharu did reject Inoue. What would happen?

Inoue is very popular in Koharu's school.

Everyone think he's cute. They don't see the bullying he puts Koharu through. They just think he's an adorable, slightly bratty tsundere boy. The girls want him. The boys want to be him.

To their eyes, Inoue's infatuation with Koharu is obvious, adorable, and totally innocent.

They would see Koharu rejecting him for (apparently) no reason as an insane and cruel thing to do.

"He's cute! He likes you! He's fun to be around! Why on earth would you ever reject him?"

Inoue obviously wouldn't just accept being rejected. He'd ramp up the pressure. Not only would he personally bully Koharu harder, but he'd tell the other boys lies about what she's like.

The boys would gossip among themselves, and to the other girls, absolutely ruining Koharu's reputation. She'd be the target of catty rumors and outright lies. Most of the school would believe some sort of lie about her. They'd all think she's an evil bitch who broke Inoue's heart for no reason.

And high-school friends are fickle. She'd be incredibly lucky if she had even one friend stick by her. Especially since anyone who did stick with her would also be pressured and bullied and lied about.

She'd be totally ostracized.

Whispered insults and jeers from the boys, and even worse from the girls. They'd bully her. Insult her. Even physically attack her, at times.

All because of one scorned, lying bitch.

At least, that's what Koharu thinks will happen.

Well unfortunately, at times fiction can be an exaggerated reflection of reality.

Especially in terms of Japan where the entire society dictates that everyone has to conform to peer pressure because "everyone else thinks so." It's a very real cultural thing that still persists in their society (though the younger generation seem to be trying to change this mentality for the better, especially in places like in their working conditions, i.e. Not going out drinking with the bosses because they think it's a pain in the ass and they just wanna go home and rest or not caring that they go home ahead of their boss)

Not saying your advice isn't sound, you know at least be aware that reality and fiction should be properly separated but the fiction that is there to be exaggerated exists because it often has some little kernels of reality to be based off of.

Putting it in the context of the manga though:
The scenario that happens after from the novel is that Koharu will try to break the idea that her and Inoue are stuck together like glue because everyone else thinks so seeing as they've always been together directly in the classroom almost the day after she gets into another session with our dear MC. Inoue's guy friends and even some of the girls will try pressuring Koharu to apologize to Inoue after she declares they were never really together and she hated his guts. If it wasn't for our dear MC here, Koharu would've been stuck to Inoue for life despite how badly he verbally abuses her because of everyone else's expectations

They did. I even went and checked this morning to see if they had been banned because their chapter here vanished, but nope. Everything seems OK on their end, they just pulled Chapter 1 for some reason. It's clearly not a DMCA thing because it doesn't have that "phantom chapter" listing and we know Tukki was banned for paywalling but KDT reformed and doesn't have an issue with that anymore so there's nothing going on there.

It's weird. It ultimately doesn't matter too much because I've read the first 5 chapters before when Tukki had them up but it's gonna confuse people and limit the manga's growth among new readers if they can't read the first 4 chapters when they stumble upon this for the first time. Even if it does just seem like "lucky loser reverse chastity goon-slop" to some degree.
