I like this theme of a “reverse chastity world.” But at the same time, I have some difficulty accepting that things work that way. What I feel is missing is for the stories to provide a logical reason for why things function like that. I usually try to “ignore the logic” and just accept that this is how things are, period. Still, I wish they would include some background explaining why this role reversal happens.

One thing I didn’t find very logical is the fact that boys don’t want to go out with girls because they’re virgins. Even in the “normal” world, I’ve never seen stories about girls not wanting to date boys just because they’re still virgins. Usually, at least within my circle of friends, there was a lot more teasing among boys for being virgins than girls mocking boys for still being virgins.

But putting all that aside, I’m enjoying the story so far.

Definitely would be interesting what version of history would lead to this sort of culture. My two cents would probably be it is the same way where historically men are in positions of power? It’s not impossible since there were cultures where the leading figure was a woman at some point in history (like bonafide full control monarch type of way)

You would need to have a reversal in genetics. Women would generally be physically stronger and more aggressive. Once humans developed the concept of society, the more aggressive women are more likely to establish themselves as leaders with the strength to back it up, and history goes from there. Yes, once in a while you would get an exception, but the exception they are, not the norm.

As I've stated multiple times in this thread now, Koharu goes beyond just teasing- his behavior is classic abusive behavior. He is attempting to control her life, clearly shown by his reaction at the end. Koharu's behavior should be disgusting regardless of gender. Nagatoro's teasing is used to disguise interest and as an excuse to get involved in his life, not control it as we see here.

I think you're too hung up on the terminology alone. In mannerisms, looks, and teasing actions, he's quite similar to Nagatoro. I'm assuming the author was trying to draw direct comparison between the characters to explore the possibility of Hachiouji being "stolen" in this sex reversal world, like a "bad end" scenario. Maybe it's not even derivative of Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san, but representative of the same relationship dynamic that's popular across the medium.

Looks/style, sure. Mannerisms, kinda. Teasing actions, way off base. In terms of relationship dynamics and actions, it is much more similar to the "breaking up with abusive childhood friend" trope than it is the "cute teasing brat" trope.
