Damn... Welp. I feel like boys wouldn't have a proper equivalent for this situation. I mean, I guess if a friend gets you an onahole, but a massager at least can have a legit use outside of masturbation, and it's an electric appliance, too. I wasn't saying its immature because of it being a joke, joking isn't immature. Buying someone sex toys as a way to make fun of them is immature since it's an adolescent way of seeing sexuality as something shameful.
Basically, it's not that gag gifts are immature, it's the way that I've seen those sex toy gag gifts used as ways for young men to challenge each other's masculinity that's immature. Like "Ha ha I've gotten you a dildo, indicating that you like stuff in your butt which means you're not a real man!!1!"
That's an immature way of looking at sexuality. There are plenty of gag gifts that don't involve childish views of gender, I was just referring to the only context I've personally seen people buy each other sex toys as gifts.
