well. they are volunteers and hosting stuff that isnt theirs. Trying to profit off it for motivaation is a very tricky and easy way to get a site banned.

There are stuff I wish they's prioritize but I'm not able to do much to contribute. I theoretically could but my schedule is swamped as is and I'm trying to get a social life back after 3 years.
You say that as if Batoto wasn't in all ways superior. They're inept.

then you just force a dozen groups to "compete" for popular manga in case they might want to translate it one day.
forgot the "If a second group don't upload a chapter" ?
and this "we don't have enough member, but every season 2 - 3 new manga" groups don't need more projects, and they could simple flag the old projects as abandoned
They don't want to wait 6 months (which can be 20 chapters for weekly manga) to grab a spot.
you mean this "we buy raws" and beg for money groups? therefore different flag options, and many Publisher release their manga in 3-6 parts these days
And if they do, it just repeats the day the locked group "expires". It also encourages a locked group to simply come in every few months to uplolad a chapter to keep their spot, no matter hpw behind they get.
how realistic is this scenario? I saw many manga with 6, 8 and 12 months or even years (ongoing) without translation, and a points system for troll groups could be possible (with a high threshold)
There's a lot of issues with moderating that and moderation is pretty light here to begin with. Not enough manpower to properly enforce a fair lock.
I see more problems with the programming, than moderating? 1 year for a forum software (xenforo, is popular) implementation is weird (even for volunteers)

Seen it a half dozen times myself and I mostly focus on more niche stuff. It's one of the more common reasons "snipes" happen to begin with if people aren't rushing to translate the super popular jump stuff. New group comes in and the old group "happens" to have a translation ready the next week as if they were spending months on this chapter despite their usually weekly cadence.

programming is harder yea. But once you get the big release out, maintanence wouldn't be as burdensome. Took a while here, but better than never (esepcially during the pandemic. My productivity was completely shot in 2021 and a good part of 2022).

Moderating is easier to invest in but you never get a break. Alternatively, it's a lot easier for a bad actor to ruin it all. And mod drama is always worse than user/creator drama, which at least has the same power dynamic. That's how you completely kill off communities if left unchecked.

A pair of 2+,

In the past, you've abandoned at least one series on which no one else was working. Why are you grabbing at more than one series on which other teams have already been working?
