I think being "stomach-turning" is part of the appeal for both of those series. And I don't mean this chapter, since it was all regular stuff, but the truly traumatic stuff and gruesome experiences.

Alright, so the Timeline so far seems to be (with 1 year margin of error):
1. 2007 - 1st year of "Ten'ei" or "Heaven's Era", as they call it in the facility.
2. 2019- 12th year of Ten'ei, that's when Asura kills herself
3. 2024 - 17th year of Ten'ei, that's when Tarao dies and Tokio gets pregnant and gives birth
4. 2034 - 27th year of Ten'ei, that's when Kiriko and Haruki become 1 person, Doc disappears, Robin does too
5. 2039 - 32nd year of Ten'ei, that's when our main plots progresses, with Maru being 15 y.o. and Kiru 18-20 y.o.
