jobber’s jobbing, kid’s winning, but still, there were some really cool moments/panels in this chapter.

And, like, imo the original setup was that the kid was egotistical and old guy was humble and straightforwardly focused, but now it’s flipped and the old guy’s the one going on about his egotistical wish to take down gods while the kid’s the one deleting his own ego to “listen” calmly to the spear. Either way I’m going to root for the person who’s less egotistical and more calm and focused, so now i’m rooting for the kid.

Agreed. I was more or less fine with it when the oni boy awakened his gate,(Because of fighting the old man) but at this point, everyone is opening the eye gates.

It should have been kept exclusive to the oni boy and the old man.

Art is godly as always but having the 'unreactable' god-killing quickdraw stopped by a spear spinning and then falling from the sky feels so jank.

Yup cracked the code of the battle, if you're younger than your opponent you will actually win, except if you fight that old ninja dude you will lose but you will comeback as a final boss while the ninja dude is going to die next fight.
