@Xyzzy
Are readers so insecure that they can’t handle any romantic rival?
Look at the majority of comments on any story on this site with a hint of romantic interest, and you'll see the answer is YES.

Just like a lot of readers will jump straight to insisting the MC jump to mass murder, even if he doesnt actually know the people theyre mad at, or what they look like, or that it could give him PTSD and it doesnt actually get him anything.

@xyzzy Because they'd overshadow the self-insert MC due to the sole reason of actually having a personality.

Okay, a lot of crazy "princes" out there... But, man come on.. sending a ring with a finger already attached is a whole other level of psycho.

Always with the slavery, these isekais. But at least this one acknowledges that enslaving people is objectively wrong.

I really should stop reading comments here. They only depress me.

@Talismaster You vastly underestimate the kind of mental conditioning that nobility typically undergo from birth. Just look at some modern religious cults and how they brainwash their members into working for the "betterment" of their cult; and most of the time it's done to adults who ought to know better, so just imagine if they'd gotten them from birth.

If he'd been there in person, we wouldn't have a story; we'd have a pretty corpse. Beyond that, the kind of psychopath that would send a dead woman's severed finger with her "wedding ring" still attached to a woman he's planning to marry and enslave has enough screws loose that he'd be counting on that same conditioning to hold strong until she was presented to him. Besides, don't you know? Fetching your bride is what one has servants for.

Well, i do understand the Father, more or less at least... it is cowardly, but he tries to save the people of his kingdom against the obviously overwhelmingly powerful Empire, sacrificing a single life against the whole kingdom in a hopeless situation. Of course he is an idiot to think that this would change anything, after all the generalgirl already prepared the invasion and the girl isnt on the run long enough, so the Empire had no intention of letting the kingdom be in the first place and as it seems it is relativly obvious that this would happen, even if he gave his daughter away.

You're absolutely correct, but damn. A slave mark that won't allow servants to give orders to slaves? There's just too many things wrong with this for me to take seriously, and I eat isekai up.

@Talismaster I imagine it'd be a security issue; servants, especially in a household like that, are among the first people to have complaints about their boss and, oh, how easy it would be for a servant to just slip a command to the woman who shares their master's bed to smother him with a pillow one night.

If I were that dude, I'd definitely want the only person capable of giving binding commands to be me; now, if you could give permission for differing levels of permission, that's an entirely different story, since you could give your slave-fetching servant the power to order the slave to not harm themselves or others and to not run away and you'd be golden. But, again, if every psychotic villain read the Evil Overlord List, we'd have no story.

On the topic of smothering, since he's the alleged owner, she'd be unable to fulfill that order I think. I'm just annoyed at how easy it is to physically run away while you have a curse that is supposed to rob you of your free will, or at least ability to make certain actions. If you can't go against a command, couldn't "Not running away" just be part of the package? Like, the slavermakers seem to have collective ownership over newly branded slaves if just a word from them can restrain you.

This is all just too cartoon villain tier incompetent. Look at the knights they sent to capture her.

"Durr, we gon kill you and leave you as an example!"
"I'll jump off the cliff lol"
"Oh shit, let's not b rash, we'll treat you fairly lmao."
"That's a lie."
"lol, just surrender."

It's all just poorly written villainy because the author needs the world to be laughably stereotypically evil to make the MC look far better in comparison. I'm not even bothering to go at the "first thing a reincarnated person does is get slaves" cliche yet... He's going to get the elves next.

the WN tells the story in a different order but essentially the chapter the manga left off is about 25 i believe. The order of things is a bit shuffled in the WN, but that's about the time the war happens.

Liking the stories so far. I'll be seriously disappointed if the castle doesn't have the ability to transform into a massive mech!

Geez, this is why nobles suck. Should take off their heads and institute glorious democracy. :p
