FAHtima!
Holy Goddess of pure indiscriminate death and destruction.
Also ain't no way that Sharaf al-Din guy is that gullible. But I guess he was just under pressure being brought into court for trial and scrambling to find any hope of salvation so he got too excited at the first thing he thought was a lucky encounter.

The first few pages are hilarious. Ah yes, the famous "six-feet-under" Shira and his meek and obedient buddy Guyukchan. It's honestly kinda sad that, after all the fumbling and stumbling, Sitara still hasn't learned the most important lesson in her life. That lesson being DON'T THINK YOU'RE SMARTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE, AND ALWAYS HAVE A BACKUP PLAN IN CASE THINGS GO WRONG. The people you're trying to manipulate are not as predictable and one-dimensional as you want them to be. Basically, just think two steps ahead and try to cover yo ass as much as possible before pulling risky schemes. However...
So far, I haven't been able to make any effective moves... Aside from having the court take a harsh stance against the Oirat tribe.
The latter part is probably her trying to convince herself it was a right thing to do, but it shows that Sitara is not completely delusional... Toregene, however, is. She's just there for Sitara to make use of her high position in the court and to endlessly reassure her that "this time for sure". It will never be "this time for sure" if you don't build any positive connections with others in the court and refuse to learn from your mistakes.

This whole series is like watching a car crash being unable to look away.

I thought it was Muhammad but it makes me sadder than no one will remember him except Fatima......

"Muhammad" the boy is most likely Nasr-al-din al-Tusi (full name Abu Ja'far Muhammad bin Muhammad bin al-Hasan al-Tusi), the great polymath of the Nizari Ismaili state and THE LITERAL INVENTOR OF MODERN TRIGONOMETRY. If you ever hated sines and cosines, now you know who to blame.

Nah, "The Evil in the Faith" will do just fine. This isn't even his final form.

I feel really bad for Korguz. Poor guy’s just trying to rebuild Persia and yet he gets forced into this whole court intrigue.

I’m not sure what page 12 is trying to convey. Is Sitara realizing that Sorghaghtani was secretly behind all of these events?

That's the point. She is slowly becoming a "witch", and keeps refusing the chances to forgive and move on.
Idk what is up with the comment section with these past few chapters, like we're really questioning why these characters who had their loved ones killed and were taken away to a foreign land by their invaders are actively sabotaging said invaders?

The big problem with Sitara and Toregene is that they are deluded fools who are still arrogant enough to think their plans will surely work this time and not even bothering to even reflect and not use their heads for once. They are outright relying luck at this point to accomplish their plans.

Sitara even has enough self-awareness to realize they haven't even accomplished anything in all those years besides forcing the Mongol Imperial Court to punish the Oirats and even then that happened due to a random incident and the outcome wasn't what Sitara wanted. Yet somehow they think they will accomplish something just because their desires of revenge believe them to do so.

And even worse is that everyone in the Mongol Imperial Court knows what they are planning and only Ogedei's mercy prevents Boraqchin from outright killing Sitara herself at this point. Guyuk himself sees Sitara and Toregene's actions putting not just him but his wife and future offspring and the very future of House Ogudei in danger as a result of the mounting hatred they are unknowingly building.

@ChromaticAbberation already elaborated Sitara's glaring flaws depicted in the very first pages of this chapter.

Among all the characters in this manga, they are arguably getting worse as the manga goes on.

I don't think anyone questions why Sitara and Toregene want to sabotage the rule that took everything from them. It's just getting harder and harder to root for them because:
1) They're spectacularly incompetent at what they're trying to do;
2) They're now willing to throw innocent bystanders under the bus (to no avail);
3) They want to ruin the work of people who give their all to make a positive change.
Yeah, I'm also not the fan of people saying that they should just "forgive and move on". I think they shouldn't, really. It's just that their plans not only fail to hit their intended target, but sometimes make things worse for people with no power. Why condemn others to the same fate they suffered? Is there really no other way?

I don't really want to spoil anything, but considering that this story is an adaptation of historical figures and their actual history, I think you should expect that this mostly reflects what went down then, with the mangaka's creative liberties to describe their thoughts and feelings at the time. That being said, their behavior is expected considering that these were people taken away from their homes, living in the land of the very people that caused their grief. So quite frankly, being self-destructive instead of being calmly calculating or being completely civil is pretty realistic for people of their background and especially of their actual history.

The hilarious part is that she was a slave to begin with: if anything, she is enjoying much more freedom and power under the Mongols...
The original owners did a better job in brainwashing her.

At When I saw the scene of sitara’s mistress dying I thought it was just showcasing sitara’s vengence and when she and shira first met, but then I realized it was a parallel scene just as tolui killed the mistress in a show of dominance, sitara atempted to kill tolui as a show of dominance…. She’s becoming what she hated
