@Narf i agree, i actually came straight here after i saw simp to voice concerns
Zeroscans does it too
i cross referenced with other chapters of "Hero I Quit etc etc etc" and a pink haired girl was called female simp only in zero scans' translation where as other groups used a generic insult
as a remark for how clingy she is
its clear they wanna be hip and cool with the internet lingo and their respective base loves it, b/c they all looked at me funny for pointing out
but ye... it bugs me... though it is what it is ig... zero scans wont stop their practice and im sure the group working on this wont either
as for the scene im assuming they are talking about a Tsukki's fanclub, since its a fairly common gag in these japanese romcoms
personally don't agree with the ghetto school remark
you've acknowledged its an internet insult
and from what i know from experience, and maybe times have changed, is that that type of internet lingo normally doesn't get picked up
i'd just prefer if simp was left as a T/N note if you really had to put it in there for comedic effect
personally personally perrrrrsonnnalllllyyyyyyyyy don't find it amusing at all to see in my manga readings
