Interesting! We all kind of knew this was kind of where the story was headed. But I didn't think they fire the proverbial Chekhov's Gun until, like, the manga was close to finished or something. And certainly in a more dramatic context.

Either the author is flying by the seat of their pants or they're cooking something that wasn't so obvious. I'm intrigued.
