Honestly, I expected the mad lad to propose to Desmos, try and both play her maiden heart as well as dance politically on a larger, more cutthroat stage. I'm befuddled by the sudden desire to go back, as we were never given any indication of him caring about his home. Just an average person who devoted himself to games.
Not to say we can't develop this, but at the same time, we've had 4 years of him winning and going ham on these gals, but no one has gotten pregnant, which was like...part of the initial conceit. Zulu hasn't done anything other than prompt Mikagami. We get 10-12 chapters a year, with 3-4 of those being more devoted to wooing the fresh-won gals.
I'm glad we're breaking the formula a little if we aren't approaching the end. But it feels like a jump back to the Earth side is a mistake because we'll get a lot of characters who need development or utility all at once, and we've barely scratched the surface with the ones we have.
