Feels like that merchant boy broke quite a lot of rules of etiquette there (physically grab a woman, tell ppl she would give them cold water without her permission, not negotiate her wage before starting to sell her services without her permission, setting the price of the beverages without negotiation (hopefully she asks for a wage at twice the price per beverage), if not outright laws (physically grabbed a woman and detained her against her will. Especially since she seems to be part of the ruling caste?).

Here's hoping he gets screwed over when she demands payment. Thought he likely won't.

edit: aw, seems he didn't get screwed over.

I'm willing to bet our boi here will probably end up being FMC's assistant/sidekick, where he does all the business/marketing and she does all the product research stuff with magic.

So what's the chance his mother has beriberi? 80%? Rare in Rome but still seems likely.

The guy didn’t even planned to give some of the earning until he know that it makes her sick??? Yeah, if I am Tito I will punch that guy.

The manga should have told the previous price so the reader will understand how much did he increase.

That's a really great way to celebrate something, build useful infrastructure instead of doing wasteful parties.

I swear to god they're teaching some kind of seminar throughout all of Asia titled How to Elongate Your Story through the use of Filler. Bumbling and fumbling characters and inner mologues for anything that requires any form of decision making are all learned there. This has to be it.

I assume it's like with movies, not many are teaching this stuff so most people end up learning from the same small pool of "experts", like how we get that godawful shaky cam, since it pretends to be action and you get to hide mistakes, so you don't really have to work hard to make something good.

So often with manga we get repeating stuff like, praising food, converting in world money to yen and big inner monologues to pad out there story so it can run longer,we don't need endings as long as people buy the story.

So, Posca is kind of a thing that was water and vinegar, and Romans drank a lot of that, but the thing they are referencing is probably "Mulsum;" this was 3 parts water, and 1 part fruit juice, and was available with local fruits all over the place... and you could have basically any fruit at all if you were of the Equites Class and Above.
A Senatus Family would absolutely have Pomegranate Mulsum available to drink at most times; that would be a standard throughout Roman Gual and Brittania, but certainly available well before Cæsar crossed the Rubicon if you were in the area of Modern Italy.
Since the manga is existing in am alternate history, maybe magic made them not drink pomegranates? It was considered the fruit that Eve ate to learn about Sex, Drugs, and Rock-&-Roll Good and Evil, after all...

In other news, Marcus would have been put to death about 0.005 seconds after making physical contact with a member of the Equites or Senatus Class; dude literally is supposed to be dead, regardless of how it might make MC feel poopy.
The fact that they have been trying to go hard on the world-building, they suddenly decided we need a little anime "tee-hee" moment that falls flat on its fucking face.

⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️
Dude literally grabbed A ROMAN SENATORS CHILD and tried to force her to work.
⬆️ ⬆️ ⬆️ ⬆️

Literally, an act considered a crime that has the consequence of death.

And it just gets played off with "are you dumb," by the Maid-Slave?
Is the author dumb? Because that is all I'm getting from that scene: "Author is a fucking dipshit."

Those words are the only thing I gleaned from that scene, aside from confusion about the entire world that they just built, amd a belief that my time reading this was a waste.

Because the kid, Marcus, who did this... would never do that!

And yet, instead of drinking the juice and having the revelation, there is this... this stupid "Bit," this failed comedy sketch, where a guy who would never grab a Senatorius... suddenly does so;
... and a whole group of people who would stop him... they just don't;
... and the guards around... do nothing;
... and the maid-slave... doesn't do her job;
... and a million things that will not happen.... suddenly happen.

For no reason.

And it's just okay.
Because Manga-Anima Friendship ending.
Tee-hee.
What a fucking moron.
