It is isekai slop & edgy and all, but so far it's been consistent and respectful with the use of fighting game themes, from the SF combat mechanics, the likeness of japanese FG culture like the coin system, the concept of sparring partner, and even the skimpy outfit the girl uses I believe are homage to FG charas (lots of girls in FG use sexy outfit such as Cammy, Mai, Athena, etc).

There's no thing such as "slavery system" in any FG, so I doubt the story will devolve into that, as slop as it is.

I think the main difference is that Mai, Cammy and others (Athena is mostly a cameo in SCB/Psycho9 unless you meant the OG one in SvC) flaunt it their skimpy costumes while here, the girls are clearly unconfortable/forced. So more to the edgy/revenge theme of these manga.
I'm here for the absurdity of fighting game (mostly SFII) mechanics in this world and the Japanese scene lore (doubt it we'll get any western one) so I'll keep reading but we clearly will get the kouhai going all edgy pretty soon.

Princess Athena in SvC and cameos on Athena's supers in KoF games is the one I meant, but yeah I use Athena there loosely.
The skimpy outfit was clearly forced on the girls, and from the PoV of normal Japanese girls it's an embarrassing outfit, that's why I didn't deny the edginess. It's still pretty much typical isekai edgy slop manga after all.
That being said, I still doubt the "slavery system" cliche will be used here since it has nothing to do with FG mechanics nor FGC culture in general, unless they spin it as tag mechanic lol

Fun premise, and now that I'm reading it, I'm kind of surprised nobody had done this concept before. Like, we've seen a lot of fighting game manga, and isekai is also really popular-- boom, easy

Stuck around for the first chapter aside from the fighting game mechanics and the pretty good art this is just so unintuitive and sloppy, the characters are comically evil, story beats are exactly the same as every single isekai (take the edgy mc claiming he won't protect the girls but takes them under his wing anyways so they "pay him back"). Since these are modern people I was wishing for more push back against the system can't these fighting game gods stop all this other world kidnapping and fighting cuz you'd think they reduce any risk of a super pro gamer guy coming in. Well just a little rant for a kinda slop manga

I think they are confident that they will beat any newcomer that has been summoned. Think of like you handicap yourself when fighting a new opens that you only THINK is new because you never saw them before.
