Yuuji's part of a prophecy to vanquish 3 world ending dragons: blue, red, and black. He dealt with the first 2 forever ago; the 2nd dragon was back around the 20s[chapters].
Almost 70 chapters later, and no black dragon. Author probably realized too late that they front loaded the story; once the black dragon is introduced, this story will near its finale... unless there's a spinoff.

i'd expect the 'spinoff' to be like all the slimes daily lives like how mukouda's slime/sui had a spinoff for their series too lol

pg 13 is the reason why the slimes couldn't bring back the cused box, since within the cursed box was the curse of contamination which could affect the slimes.

It could be just a normal attempt to contact Yuuji through a slime that’s with him. This manga likes to place shadows on people at the end of chapters just to create another cliffhanger.
