So you're telling me the guild has enough money to pay any adventurer who just arrives for the quest. Also enough to hire chefs from famous restaurants in the capital. And enough to renovate the interior of the guild building. So how come they don't renovate the outside? Something seems suspicious here.
Not really.. They could have brought pavillion tents and the like for office/mess hall/sleeping quarters.
They chose to park their field kit in existing abandoned structures that were still serviceable....ish.
Since it takes quite a while to find and neutralise the curse generators across a
continent, you're looking at a long-term project like Dominus Island was.
And they're only at Stage 1: feasibility and Pioneering
Even if the Guild throws money at the problem, it's still bloody expensive and pure waste to spend cash on fripperies like fancy exteriors.
If, and that's still an
IF at this point, they can generate a steady supply of the Magic Fertiliser, for which the Guild will have a
monopoly, and will generate the cash flow to build proper facilities from scratch for long-term supply.
So nothing "suspicious" , actually refreshingly normal budget allocation.
