The slimes are many so he be cooking all the time. A solution might be to tame or hire dedicated cook. Hopefully not the overused trope of slavery. That is the thing I like about this manga , it avoided some of the overused tropes
time to train slimes in how to cook... might be bad idea since they got kirbys appitie it seems.

I'm guessing that the food seems so good because it's something similar to the meat from Domicious island (no, I'm not looking up how to correctly spell it, haha), which is something the series hasn't touched upon since he was there - the meat there was apparently SO GOOD that it caused monsters to constantly eat each other, and seemed to be nigh addictive to the point even the MC seemed to need to force himself to stop eating.

It could have been a natural phenomenon, but it still seems like something they should explain a little more in depth, because it seems quite suspicious. :thonk:

So you're telling me the guild has enough money to pay any adventurer who just arrives for the quest. Also enough to hire chefs from famous restaurants in the capital. And enough to renovate the interior of the guild building. So how come they don't renovate the outside? Something seems suspicious here.
Not really suspicious. It is merely priorities. Delicious food and rewards are needed to retain the forces while their stay there is temporary. They don't fix what they don't use or need. Having ruined look outside does not change things aside from reminding them that this is the frontline (technically).

Also he said inside is renovated but judging from the wall it is limited. Also outside renovation must be done citywide simultaneously . They can't just fix the guild exterior and ignore the rest.

They will soon go to Verigis abandoning that place . Depending on the outcome they might fix it . This similar on how after the monsters are gone in Evil Dominious Island they finally built proper infrastructures like a dock.

Not really.. They could have brought pavillion tents and the like for office/mess hall/sleeping quarters.
They chose to park their field kit in existing abandoned structures that were still serviceable....ish.

Since it takes quite a while to find and neutralise the curse generators across a continent, you're looking at a long-term project like Dominus Island was.
And they're only at Stage 1: feasibility and Pioneering

Even if the Guild throws money at the problem, it's still bloody expensive and pure waste to spend cash on fripperies like fancy exteriors.
If, and that's still an IF at this point, they can generate a steady supply of the Magic Fertiliser, for which the Guild will have a monopoly, and will generate the cash flow to build proper facilities from scratch for long-term supply.

So nothing "suspicious" , actually refreshingly normal budget allocation.

The government are decent to exceptional. They are decisive in emergencies. They are quick in giving the key to the guild-ship all because of an oracle. They are also quick in identifying future problems. Prior to Yuuji discovering the curse they already know something is wrong and appear to be in the investigation phase. There is minimal red tape it seems.

The society as far I can tell are meritocratic. It would have been perfect if weren't for the evil organizations.

God, the fucking pacing on this rag of a story...

Boring issue: world ending

Pressing issue: Slime Hunger.

Here a thought, What if among the participants are royalties in disguise. Those with a side gig of adventuring.
