@Al_Azif I think it was a combination of "negotiation" and not having quite a tight enough leash on the butler. The slave trader said it wasn't enough, so it's probably less than the agreed but price, but he could fudge the numbers a bit, maybe take it out of his trashed henchmen's wages, and make it look like he got a better offer. If he had opened with offer to buy, he would have been laughed off and probably thrown out, and the situation would have devolved into roughly the same thing.

Why is that?
Because it promotes economical growth for the region?

There are a lot of positives in having low income people be able to "live with peace of mind", as long as it doesn't involve well fare off course.

That's it? He just beats them up for no reason then buys her? I mean, there are plenty of moral reasons to beat them up but those justifications kinda evaporate when he ends up paying for her anyways.

People aren't smart enough to figure out why the mc did all this craziness.

Is he not afraid the slave trader will get revenge? Like an assassin or poison or anything. Why make an enemy for no reason?

It's so cringe when I remember that he was a middle aged man before he reincarnated and how he acts now.

First time in a while I laughed at an added page.

Sadly I looked at some of the other comments and saw how some people did not understand what was going on... the sorrow given to me by this wishes that I knew a good thing on basic Psychology to recommend.

It was a 'power move'; their dirty forceful tactics were used against them - they use force to make people accept bad/nefarious "trades".

The use of force was not a bluff (If you take out the Moral standings on the situation) the side with the greater power wins and because the loser was technically paid for the transaction it was a 'negotiation'.

This is a classic "taste of your own medicine moment" where the Slave trader could not complain because what happen to him was the same as he was doing to others.
