All the ones from the other nation were unconscious. So they can just claim they kept them unconscious. As for the the ones from their nation, it doesn't matter that they were hired. They took a job to attack a higher ranked noble from a lower ranked noble. This includes planning to abduct and sell royalty into slavery. The only way they would get to live is providing info one who was in charge, which is already known. They won't escape execution.
