More than the excess of wives I just hope the author lets the poor kid have a timeskip.

He should marry his sister too at this point, who's gonna notice?

Just realized that isekai tensei stories like this (e.g. TsukiMichi, Soudouki) really don't tend to stray off from the "story-arcs-tested-to-be-popular" path like technology progression and multiple wives story beats.

Eh. Why so much bithin' about the harem thing? It's not like this doesn't have the "Harem" tag on it, right? Goes to double check Yeah.

IIRC, this guy is being set up as the next ruler of their nation. Four wives at this point is kinda tame when you stop and think about it, though at his age it is a bit early-ish. However, also keep in mind that in settings like these, sometimes betrothals happen as soon as a child's gender is known. It would not surprise me if, later on down the line when Cain and his wives start having children, that other aristocrats try and crash the party whenever a child is born. And only so they know the gender of the child so they can immediately start pushing marriage proposals.

But yeah. No fucking shit, there have been rulers in our actual, real world history who've had harems that number over 100 women. And they made an effort to dick down every single one of those girls.

Not that I think it was a practical thing to do, just that there's precedence in the real world.

Additionally, I'm pretty sure that the Gods of this world have this guy set up so that his abilities will be hereditary. In other words: they want multiple bloodlines with very strong "Hero" talents. And if just Cain by himself isn't enough to handle this rogue god the others want him to take down, then a small army of "Cain Jr's" oughta do the trick.

Besides, this isn't like other trash-harem-isekai where the guy just has the ladies flocking to him despite being as flat as cardboard or utter shit-heels. Cain is a genuinely nice guy who's gone out of his way to help people in need, which is kind of a big deal in a world full of nobles who are only in it for themselves.

He got to the first three at the right points in their lives. Telestia and Silk at the very special age where girls are in full-swing swooning over romance stories and dreaming of their future Chad Husbando. And Tifana when she's in the full-on horny teenager stage... except she understands what's driving ("I'll give birth to strong children!"), and she's gone, "Well, I'm all for it, but if I'm gonna do this, then I want only the best." And then along comes Cain...

The Saintess Hinata... well, there's the fact that Cain's been in full-on Chad mode with her the whole time, and that one of the Gods told her outright to marry him. So yeah...

Although one thing to remember harems IRL were horrible places with assassinations, power politics and all that jazz. Jap harem series have them all be besties and sunshine and flowers.

Oh, but that was politics in general in those settings. It wasn't just in the harems. In reality, Lord Corgino would be the rule and not the exception - half of the aristocracy out to kill or discredit you so they can usurp your position or increase their influence/share of power, the other half sucking up to you so they can have whatever you feel like giving them as well as any other leavings.

If going by deconstruction, I would say that the main reason why things aren't that bad in this world is because their Gods take a more active role in managing things. Thus we have our Unicorn in the Garden that makes this whole thing at least somewhat believable: that the Gods here are real, and they actually do give a shit.

Why is that fat count still walking around free after being an accomplice in the conspiracy to assassinate the saintess? How incompetent is the king to let him walk

Erm... who is this elf? I found myself at a loss that I totally cannot remember elf girl, at what chapter they have met and at what circumstances.
After Cain delivered the dead soldiers. He was about to battle all the soldiers at once.
