@Richman Same thing with chalk. The harder the chalk, the more resistant it is to crushing force but it becomes more brittle and therefore its resistance to bending lessens, not like it had much resistance to begin with.
Steel is the same way. The more you strengthen steel, the more brittle it gets.

On a different note.
Why is everything called ranger?

Honestly the MC is good so far, but I have the a problem with the other side characters like
As soon the big tiddi girl was on screen i could bet my life she was the main girl (that's how much she stuck out) the mother's memento is kinda cliché i also bet it's gonna be an important,
like it's the proof that she is either from a noble or even royal family (since she has only one of a set)
The girl trusts the MC too much, they didn't even know each other a few seconds ago then we have the typical cliché bad guy who want to rape the girl at first sight also why are you trying to kill the MC (ch.3) if you want the potion recipe?

I really love how the story was introduced and has been progressing so far.
Reminds of old fantasy manga, to be honest - no narration explaining how he died and got reincarnated, no cheat skills, etc. Frankly, had he not said he was a reincarnated person, this could pass off as a non-isekai.

@YamiryuuZero

So you are saying that being able to make a potion that can instantly heal anything as long as you are not dead isn't a cheat skill?
Considering The Empire is prepared to go to war over it, it's not a regular thing just any good apothecary can make.

But yeah, you could make this a normal fantasy story about a really good apothecary just by changing the backstory a little.
He doesn´t seem to be suffering from being in a strange new world ( he probably got used to it as its pretty obvious he has been here a while )

Unless he was a medic or martial artist etc, with knowledge or skills he can use, his backstory as a reincarnated person is kind of pointless.
Its one of the biggest pitfalls of the Isekai genre to make a protagonist that does not suffer or benefit from being transported into another world making it redundant.

@Goldenzeal Considering it's implied there are others who can make similar potions, it's just that the protagonists' are better, no, I don't consider it a cheat skill. He's just better at his job than most people.

I agree with you, the fact he's a reincarnation doesn't do anything for his character. I hope it gets tackled better in future chapters, but for now, it seems like a really wasted setting.

I like how the mc isn't physically strong, but has a unique skill and is smart. I like how he is just an smart apothecary. Nothing more nothing less. I hate the heroine bitch tho. She made him pay her tab after barely meeting and now is basically forcing him to jion her party even though he isn't a fighter. He owes her nothing. He even gave her that weird earing back.
