Hopefully something Biblical like a flood; he is a whale after allI wonder what Gail is cooking
NGL this doesn't read like a kingdom builder, so I can only assume the MC is "fixing" the village before moving on to adventurers with the beastkin girl. Though I do have to agree the author/mangaka has devoted entirely too many pages to this situation.OK I've got to ask, what's the point of this arc? I can't think of a reason for the author to put this in the story, since the MC isn't really doing much of anything despite supposedly being super OP.
I might have just missed something, but so far it seems like the past couple chapters have been a massive waste of time.
Thanks for the translation though.![]()
Looking at the raw release schedule, I don't think there's been any issue about this being axed any time soon. Chapters release once a month, towards the end of the month. This one released back in February, and chapter 21 just released last week.NGL this doesn't read like a kingdom builder, so I can only assume the MC is "fixing" the village before moving on to adventurers with the beastkin girl. Honestly surprised the axe man hasn't lit a fire under author-san's ass yet.
Well, you see, it reflects back on one of the major themes of the story so far, which is that shitty middle-managers are power hungry jerks who suck at their jobs and make everyone around them miserable, but the system is still fundamentally good, so instead of doing anything about your abusive boss yourself, you should just report him up the chain, and have faith that upper-management is staffed with good, honest people, who will definitely take your side, and surely won't just punish you for kicking up a fuss.OK I've got to ask, what's the point of this arc? BTW, unless you're a troll, you're giving this story way too much credit, and focusing way too much on one particular thing.Well, you see, it reflects back on one of the major themes of the story so far, which is that shitty middle-managers are power hungry jerks who suck at their jobs and make everyone around them miserable, but the system is still fundamentally good, so instead of doing anything about your abusive boss yourself, you should just report him up the chain, and have faith that upper-management is staffed with good, honest people, who will definitely take your side, and surely won't just punish you for kicking up a fuss.
On the surface, it may look like the wish-fulfilment aspect of this story is being magically strong and capable and having a cute catgirl wife, but the real fantasy is that somewhere in the bureaucratic nightmare that is your hellhole office job, there's a cool boss who appreciates your hard work and will look out for you if you get into trouble.
Maybe my comment was hard to understand. Just because I was talking about a theme of the story doesn't mean I think it's deep, lmao. I was making fun of the story as well, I was just being facetious about it. I agree with you, the main character being so supernaturally strong-willed and hardworking, yet being a total failure in his past life, is very silly.BTW, unless you're a troll, you're giving this story way too much credit, and focusing way too much on one particular thing.
Yeah, this is stupid.
Entirely too much devoted to this arc, and the author treats pig-boy as this insurmountable wall for absolutely no reason.
They tried to make it seem like the MC is just human, has his own weaknesses, and is afraid to act on his sense of justice due to past experiences of weakness and unfairness -- but let's be fucking real here. This is "generic cuck beta Japanese MC being a generic cuck Japanese MC".
There's no special circumstances here. Just bland, mediocre manga-protagonist behavior, that is impossible to take seriously or genuinely.
It's important to remember, that the MC is supposed to be this walking natural disaster, a demigod that trained for 15+ years to perfect his absurd OP strengths.
But, sure, oh no, a random teen narcissist little shit is my arch nemesis. The MC is just so, so helpless.
Get fucking real, that's dumb.
If anyone is genuinely gonna go: "Oooh! That pig-guy deserves to die, heeee! Let's see some violence, so unfair..!!"
You should know better. Even Wuxia creates more believable villains to chop down.
This is some piss-poor emotional manipulation to get the audience engaged, and because it's Jap, you're never going to get any catharsis out of it.
This sort of shit just encourages readers to flip through the pages and ignore any text bubbles, because all we care about is when this arc is gonna end.
TL;DR Typical Japanese doormat MCBTW, unless you're a troll, you're giving this story way too much credit, and focusing way too much on one particular thing.
To begin with, the story's whole shtick of: "hard work never gets rewarded so I stopped bothering uguuuuu" was, and still is, stupid.
That's the thought process of a petulent child who tried once, and then stopped forever.
The premise of this specific MC, is that he has the ability to put his mind to things, and excel at them. But boohoo, sad reality is sad, and nobody appreciates him.
Yeah, fucking right. A person who is this self-disciplined, who's capable of enduring 15 years of nothing but gruelling training and self-research to make the best out of semi-isolation and not go absolutelly fucking mental should never fail in actual reality.
If the company he worked at was dumb enough to let him go, that type of a person floats upwards somewhere else.
The only reason the MC ever became such a walking failure, is just because the author wanted a sad little victim of an MC -- but also have a really competent MC that can do anything he wants.
A real "have your cake and eat it too" type of deal.
So, no, there's no sub-surface depths to explore here. Just more generic Jap isekai writing.
I already wrote too much as a retort.
