I think what happened here is Phil saw one thing: NEW VERY INTERESTING FRIEND (It's a beastman who is of similar status to Phil with spirits, and while it's not clear he might also be able to understand them like Phil which is unusual) and has the savvy to make him his without making too much trouble.

Those are the rationales he would use to justify his actions, and possible repercussions.

But yes, you’re both right in that he just wants playtime with a catgirl or bunny girl. I’m just not sure how he’s going to have a slow life after this. Word will spread fast. His hair is considered sacred. The rainbow bridge of Gods appeared. He can speak to beasts and spirits. He is on the cusp of of magical industrial revolution with his stones. A resource-rich country with rapidly advancing technology, which happens to be the smallest country on the smallest continent...He REALLY needs to think for the long term.

This chapter was a bit too predictable... MC wasn’t very intelligent here as the reason to kill the Princess was easy as pie but it took him. A long time to figure it out
