you know, i don't get why she's not more open to being with george if her whole reason for hating his character was he was a narcissist. she's already on the road to preventing that so why not at least give new george a shot?

I mean, it's kind of spoiled already.. It's hard to give an analogy since it is impossible to happen in real life, but it's like imagine if a male were to be reincarnated as a girl with his memory, personality, and everything along. It's gonna be such a turn off for you, or at least many would, since they somehow know that it's a male soul.. Even if he will slowly turn feminine because of the estrogen and stuff..

I...didn't realize the guy she was gunning for was that much older. I mean, since she's reincarnated, the conditions become iffy, but it's still outwardly gonna be awkward.

And speaking of awkward, I didn't realize this through Bakarina and similar Otomes, but...grooming your reverse harem into respectable attractive young men is basically...husband husbandry, isn't it? Granted, that's what all early political engagements were, but still.
When you think about it that way, it's kind of a good thing these villainess-heroines are dense.

Yup, there’s a reason that almost all reincarnated MCs are dense as hell, and it because them not being dense would be gross due to the crazy age gap that would be created. Them being dense also stalls any actual romance from happening.

You end either having to justify the MC being immature enough that it doesn’t get noticed as icky, or you give older romance targets that are emotionally immature enough that it doesn’t feel too off.

Theres a manga Win over the Dragon Emperor, noble girl! that has the latter and it’s still weird because the romance is actually focused on.
