By increasing the demand for cotton and silk, along with mechanized harvesting and processing (has she invented the cotton gin yet?), there will be enough socioeconomic disruptions to bring a wave of revolution. It might be preceded by institutionalized slavery, though, as the need for labor increases.
But another landmine would be the diversion of arable land from producing crops for food to producing cash crops like cotton. A country might get away with this by making enough money to be able to import food, but eventually even neighboring countries will divert acreage to cash crops, making food scarce.
This can end very badly.
