To be fair, this is a good way to wrap up the series. In the original webnovel version, Monica was portrayed as much more complicated and devious, but that would need a lot of chapters to finally solve the problem, so this alternative version is fairly acceptable, IMO.

honestly, i still feel weird about this since it started with a gender-change main character. why was that even part of the plot. cannot tell whether this should make me interested in the original version or not, but it never provided any strong plotlines for me to even consider checking for a novel.

it was a rather average story with good art overall.

God-DAMMIT! Another one.

Genuine question though... Do these LN Ad Mangas actually bring readers to the actual LN?
Because to me personally, it doesn't work!
Here we are reading them for free. Imagine the ones actually PAID for the chapters. I would be pissed! Even if I had access to the LN, I wouldn't go read them out of spite.
But it seems to work, I guess, given the amount of promo mangas I've come across.

Anyhow. Thanks for the translation 'til the end.

Well, it ended it a 'satisfactory' way, though it's clearly just an ad for the novels.
Well, better than a unplanned rubbish ending, or never getting the ending at all I suppose.

Anyway, this was mediocre pretty much all the way through, and the interesting hook of winning over her family was solved some time ago, so there wasn't much reason for it to go on anyway.
This is a 'I kept reading it simply because I started it' / 10 - Neither good, nor bad, just meh.

Thanks for the translations and all that.

Expected really, judging how it went down from the last chapters. I guess axe-kun was just getting some elbow grease before baring down the hatchet. :aquadrink:

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It really winds up a case by case basis based on how interesting it is overall (tho one I did go to read b/c of the manga ad was the Villainess' Slow Prison Life)

I feel like they work sometimes but when they’re this short, it’s hard to get so invested in the story. I start most of my LN through the manga but they’re usually from long running manga that I’ve become invested into it. In 10 chapters, I’m curious but not that invested to start looking for the LN.

It does work, in the original market (Japan). On average, Japanese are much more prolific novel readers than we in the English-speaking world, and LNs tend to have large volume counts. The manga (especially, the serialized manga found in collection magazines) is a great way to preview the LN before investing in it, and often is created specifically for that purpose. The print volumes of the manga are sold more to hardcore fans who buy everying, manga, LN, merch, anime, drama CD, etc.

Don't forget, the publishers aren't making anything on scanlated translations, and not very much on translated official series. Their money is in the Japanese market.

Just be glad we aren't talking about the Korean market. There, the ad manhwas are often only a single chapter or just a handful of chapters. At least we got two volumes here.

What does that mean? In the chapter title there is the word "end" but at the end of the manga it says there will be a volume 2. 🤔

Each volume has 5 chapters. The chapters come out individually then they get compiled into a volume. So Volume 2 will just be the last 5 chapters in one book basically.
