But seeing as we got 40 chapters in six years, and seeing how the story unfold... My bet is for at least 10 more years if it's not axed/forgotten.

Should be much better. Stat increases per lvl are usually higher after evolutions and he just gained 13 lvls at once. I doubt his stats doubled but at the very least he should have gotten a 50% to 70% increase.

I have to say that even though I don't like exp based leveling, this series still does it a lot better than the lousier isekai manga, where the MC reaches top levels by slaying only very low level monsters in huge numbers.

Isn't the boss centipede one of a kind in this desert (all while being called something like Desert King)? I'd say that trying to find 3-4 more of them in 2 days may very well be virtually impossible.

As for where the story stands, this desert arc is effectively still an intro Arc into this series, so there's a good chance that as long as this retains decent popularity, it will continue for much of the story.

Another aspect I like about the EXP in this story is that contribution matters. Irushia didn't get as much as he wanted, but he would have gotten a notable amount more had he actually done the bulk of the damage himself rather than the Centipede killing itself.

Hate to ask since sounds like you have read the web novel but does anything bad happen to the rabbit cause I keep having itching feeling the rabbit will die because of how weak it seems to be and cliches of companions sacrificing themselves to help the hero

No, nothing happens to Ball Rabbit as far as I've seen. In fact, the author basically forgets to bring them back into the story until close to the ending (though the web novel has gone into a bit of a hiatus right as it is about to end so official ending is not quite confirmed yet, but heavily suspected based on events unfolding).
